Vintage Black & White Davy Crockett for D23 Expo
Postado por
Marcio Disney
Today is the start of the D23 Expo! We have
one more look at a new 3-inch figured that will be introduced at the
D23 Expo Dream Store today. The figure was designed by Disney Design
Group Artist Casey Jones. It will have an edition size of 1,200 and a
retail of $13.95. Below is an image of the packaging for the figure.

"Since Wave 1 of the Disney Treasures DVD sets, my family has loved Davy
Crockett," exclaimed Casey. "[Davy Crockett's] presence is still felt
in the Parks, with Disneyland's canoes, the ranch in Paris, and all over
Fort Wilderness in Walt Disney World. He was the perfect character for
the 9-inch figure I designed for a Vinylmation Park series. This
special figure for the D23 Expo is the exclusive black and white
variant, which is how most viewers first saw Davy in his broadcast
premiere on the "Disneyland" television show, and in the opening day
broadcast from Disneyland in 1955!"
Here a few more images of the 3-inch figure. Similiar to the 9-inch figure, Davy's cap is removable.

If you are attending the Expo, we hope you have a blast! Be sure to
stop by the preview area for Disney Theme Park Merchandise. Debbie
Carlos, one of the Merchandise Events managers will have a variety of
upcoming figures on display in that area.

9-inch Figure Featuring Bulldog Butch for D23 Expo
Postado por

One more figure being released at the
upcoming D23 Expo. Eric Caszatt has talked about the 9-inch figure
he created featuring Butch.
"I've always been a fan of the Pluto shorts, and Butch was one of Pluto's great rivals," explained Eric. "I felt that Butch gave Pluto an opportunity to show more of his personality and show how clever he could be."
The bulldog Butch appeared in 11 cartoons beginning with "Bone Trouble" in 1940. This figure will have an edition size of 750 and a retail of $44.95.

D23 Expo 3-inch Vinylmation
Postado por
Marcio Disney
With less than 10 days till the upcoming D23 Expo, we are taking a
closer look at the figures being released for the event. We mentioned
earlier that Vinylmation, Jr. - Series #4 and The Lion King are being
released. But there are other figures such as the logo figure.

The figure will have an edition size of 4,800 and a retail of $13.95.
The figure will be presented in an open window box as seen below.

Thomas Scott, one of the lead designers for Vinylmation™, will be attending the D23 Expo. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Thomas and have figures signed.
Thomas will be appearing at the follow times and locations:
In addition to the Vinylmation, Jr. Series making its debut at the Expo,
Thomas also created the 3-inch figure featuring Gladstone Gander. This
figure has an edition size of 1,200 and a retail of $13.95. It will be
presented in a window box with display base.

"For the D23 Expo exclusives, the team decided to feature Disney characters you wouldn't normally see on Disney merchandise and didn't necessarily have a place in other Vinylmation series," explained Thomas. "Eric picked Butch, Casey did black and white Davey Crockett and I chose Gladstone Gander. I thought Glandstone would be a fun and lucky addition to your Vinylmation collection. It is a salute the great Carl Barks' duck comics."
Gladstone made his debut in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories No. 88 in January 1948. He was a cousin of Donald Duck and, as Thomas mentiones, was extremely lucky.
